# Import / Export as ZIP

With **Export** and **Import** you transfer complete shopping experiences as a **ZIP file** – ideal for backing up a layout or moving it from one shop to another (e.g. from the test to the live environment). The ZIP file contains the entire structure (sections, blocks, elements) including the images used.

### Exporting a layout

In the layout overview (**Shopping Experiences**) open the context menu (**…**) of the desired layout and select **Export**. The ZIP file is then downloaded.

### Importing a layout

In the layout overview, click the **upload icon** at the top right (tooltip “Import shopping experience”). Drop the ZIP file into the area or select it via **Select file** and confirm with **Import**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Images** are transferred automatically. **Data references** such as products, categories or product streams are **not** imported and must already exist on the target system. Missing data references will result in empty content, not errors.
