# Set up the blog

This guide takes you from setup to a finished blog in the shop in six steps. You do all steps in the administration under **Catalogues → Blog**.

### 1. Create a blog

First create the blog itself – it is the frame for all content. Give it a name, a description and decide whether comments should be allowed.\
→ [Blogs](/cms-bundle/en/blog/verwaltung/blogs.md)

### 2. Create categories

Structure your content with categories (e.g. “Guides” and “News”) and assign them to the blog. Each post later belongs to exactly one category.\
→ [Categories](/cms-bundle/en/blog/verwaltung/kategorien.md)

### 3. Create an author

Set up at least one author with a name, avatar and short biography – this gives your posts a face.\
→ [Authors](/cms-bundle/en/blog/verwaltung/autoren.md)

### 4. Write & publish a post

Write your first post: title, excerpt, featured image and text. Choose the author and category, optionally add tags, and set the status to **Published** (or schedule it for later).\
→ [Posts](/cms-bundle/en/blog/verwaltung/beitraege.md)

### 5. Add it to the navigation

So that visitors find the blog, add it as a menu item in the main navigation.\
→ [Entry point in the navigation](/cms-bundle/en/blog/storefront/navigation.md)

### 6. View it in the shop

Open the blog in the storefront and check the overview and post page. You design the look and structure freely via the shopping experiences.\
→ [Blog overview](/cms-bundle/en/blog/storefront/uebersicht.md) · [Post page](/cms-bundle/en/blog/storefront/beitragsseite.md)

{% hint style="success" %}
**Already have a lot of content?** Instead of creating each post individually, you can also import them via CSV – see [Import & Export](/cms-bundle/en/blog/verwaltung/import-export.md).
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
You determine the look of every blog page via the bundled layouts and the [blog elements](/cms-bundle/en/blog/elemente.md). You arrange these in the Shopware shopping-experience editor as usual.
